View a recording of this session on YouTubeThis session explores innovation and expansion of the DHIS2 platform in various country contexts to support emergency surveillance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many countries have used DHIS2 as a national disease surveillance system for both IDSR and case-based surveillance of VPDs and other notifiable diseases. The pandemic created sweeping demand for innovative use of DHIS2 functionality and customization in emergency settings alongside national demand for solutions to be developed & sustained within the national HIS architecture.
In Bangladesh, DHIS2 has been used to capture more than 6 million COVID-19 tests. As part of the national architecture an API connects DHIS2 with other systems and apps, enabling COVID-19 certificates and QR code generation, SMS alerts and integrated with SHUROKHA app to combine vaccination data into the system.
