JESUS BULUX, MD, MPH
PAHO/WHO - Guatemala
Consultant
I'm a Guatemalan MD, with specialization in Pediatrics. Got an MPH from Johns Hopkins University. For a long while I was in the area of nutrition basic research and surveillance, as a consultant to the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama, but also supporting other Latin America and Caribbean countries. More "recently" (last 15 years) I have been working in the areas of health & nutrition information systems and analysis, particularly participating in programs to strengthen field health workers in the application of biostatistics and the principles of epidemiology for disease surveillance and health analysis as a PAHO/WHO consultant in Guatemala.
Interest: The role of IT in the information management and use for health management and analysis. The role of GIS in the organization and management of Health Services Integrated Network. I see many characteristics of DHIS2 with high potential to strengthen the Guatemalan health information system.
